How to remove termites under the sink in the modular kitchen?
An almost every day the client asks how to remove termites under the sink in the modular kitchen as Termite in the kitchen is a big problem. Most of the new/upcoming residential flats are on the outskirts of the city. A few years ago all those lands were farmland or barren land. Now buildings have been made on these lands. Termite is very normal in those lands. Now in these lands, high-rise buildings are standing but the nature of the soil will remain the same. So sooner or later the inherent of those lands will show their presence. This is the primary cause in so many areas where the termite problem is very normal.
The second main cause of termite in your kitchen is damp or water clogging for a long time in your kitchen.
Ways to get rid of termites in the kitchen or under the sink in a modular kitchen:-
a. Pest Control
If you are already having termite problems in your kitchen or in the sink area of the kitchen, it will be better if you use the services of professional pest control providers. Because they give a guarantee and they do pest control in a professional manner. The pesticides which are used for pest control are very poisonous and harmful for us, so we need professionals who can do it safely. So better let it be done by the professionals don’t do it by yourself.
b. Prevention
Prevention is always considered as the best way to solve or control any problem. As an old proverb, “Prevention is better than cure”. So better prevent your kitchen or sink area of your kitchen in the following ways:-
1. Avoid seepage or waterlogging in the kitchen
If your kitchen or sink area of the kitchen is having seepage or waterlogging call plumber and fix it as soon as it is possible. Because damp or waterlogging is the most favorable condition for termites to be born. So better avoid seepage, damp, or waterlogging in the kitchen.
2. Use tiles in the backside of the cabinet
Try to use tiles on the wall which is behind the cabinet or carcass. Certainly, it will protect your carcass or cabinet from damp and termites.
3. WPC kitchen
If termite is a big problem in your locality then try to have WPC modular kitchen at your home. WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) is the best solution for this type of problem. WPC kitchen can neither be damaged by damp nor by termites, but don’t use cheap WPC board otherwise you will have screw holding problem as cheap WPC boards use Calcium. Try to use ALSTONE Hybrid board. Here I am not promoting it but I am writing on behalf of my experience with this board. Don’t use Plywood in damp or termite prone kitchen. If you are going to make a new kitchen of plywood then at least have a sink unit in WPC.
4. Proper lamination
Termite always attacks first the cabinet of your kitchen from the wall side. If your cabinet’s back ply is not laminated and not edge banded (as it happens in more than 95% carpenter made kitchen where they don’t use back ply or edge banding in non-visible areas) then it is a big threat for your kitchen. Termite always attacks the raw side of the plywood. Try to go with factory finished modular kitchen as their lamination and edge banding is very superior as compared to a carpenter.
Hopefully, now you got the answer to your question.
